Sultana Academy Welcomes a Winter Wonderland
Sultana’s quad was transformed into a Winter Wonderland this past week as a beautiful backdrop to the annual Holiday program. The event was enthusiastically received by students, teachers and parents alike. Many families participated in the festivities which included musical performances, tasty seasonal treats, and arts and crafts activities.
Preparations for the big event started some time ago, as students in various grade levels began practicing a wide variety of Holiday songs. In addition to class performances, the families of Sultana were treated to wonderful music performed by Mr. Moody’s Strings and Winds, the Sultana Pep Band, student folklorico dancers, and the OMSD District Mariachi Band under the direction of Eufemio Escalante.
Sultana’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and grade level teachers coordinated the sales of numerous goodies including cupcakes, tacos, nachos, pizza, champurrado, and hot chocolate. In addition, three Christmas Trees were given to families in an opportunity drawing.
This event was designed to showcase student talent, raise funds, and provide the entire Sultana school community with a beautiful way to welcome the holiday season together. The Winter Wonderland was a tremendous success, and has quickly become a Sultana tradition.
