Earth Day Celebration at Vineyard

Conservation, recycling, and environmental awareness were the topics of exploration at Vineyard STEM Magnet School’s 2nd Annual Earth Day Event held on Saturday, April 16th. Over 400 students and family members participated in a wide range of science experiments, art activities, and campus beautification projects throughout the day. Some of the projects included creating Earth Slime in a bag, Pinecone Birdfeeders, Mini Oil Spills, Water Cycle Bracelets, papermaking, and rockets that launched across the playground. Participants even had the opportunity to test their skill at many games such as “Knock Out Waste” and the “Recycle Toss”. Parents and students received environmental information from the numerous exhibitors who came to share their products and expertise. We are especially grateful to the Home Depot for their very generous donation of trees, plants, soil, and benches with umbrellas that have made our campus beautiful! Additional thanks to the Easter Bunny who hopped on by to take pictures with our students! What a great way to celebrate Earth Day!
