The Project Lead The Way (PLTW) middle school program, Gateway To Technology (GTT), is an activities-oriented program designed to challenge and engages the natural curiosity and imagination of middle school students. Taught in conjunction with a rigorous academic curriculum, the program is divided into six independent, nine-week units: Design and Modeling; Automation and Robotics; Energy and the Environment; Flight and Space; Science of Technology; and Magic of Electrons. The GTT curriculum appeals to a full range of students in grades 6 through 8 and relates technology to students’ daily lives. It also promotes communication and collaboration by emphasizing a team approach throughout the instructional units.
