Kristen “Kris” Brake, elected in 2010 , holds a B.A. from Cal Poly Pomona and has played an active role within the Ontario-Montclair School district for over fifteen years a school volunteer, PTA officeholder, and librarian at both an elementary school and a middle school. A recent retiree, Kris now sets her sights on improving the educational opportunities for students on a district-wide level. Married for over twenty-seven years, she is a long-time resident of Ontario and is the mother of two grown children who attended schools in the Ontario-Montclair School District and graduated from local universities. Kris is a newcomer to politics and is proud to serve her first term as a Trustee of the Ontario-Montclair School Board where she has worked for so long.

Maureen “Moe” Mendoza, elected in 2008, has been a part of the Ontario-Montclair community for over 20 years. Ms. Mendoza has two children. Her oldest son has graduated from school and is now in the California Army National Guard. Her youngest son is still enrolled in the Ontario-Montclair School District. Employed by the State of California since 1992, Ms. Mendoza currently works at Lanterman Development Center as a secretary for the Program 1 Acute Hospital. For the past 15 years, Ms. Mendoza has been an Educational Advocate and has supported parent groups regarding children’s educational issues. Active with many community and state organizations that deal with the welfare and educational issues of children, Ms. Mendoza was recently appointed to the Developmental Disabilities Area Board VII. Advocating for children is a passion for Moe and has given her an understanding of what children, parents, and teachers in this community need to help support the educational issues of teaching our children. |

Elvia M. Rivas, elected 2010, is an avid community volunteer. Elvia is an 9-year Ontario Kiwanis member, serving seven years as a board member and currently holds the position of California-Nevada-Hawaii District Trustee for Kiwanis International. Elvia also serves on the board for the Ontario Salvation Army. In addition, she served as a board member for Ontario Eastern Little League from 2002 through 2008 and is actively involved in Chaffey High School’s Renaissance Program. Elvia received her BA in Liberal Studies/Education from San Diego State University. |
