This year, the Ontario-Montclair School District’s Art Festival and Food Fair were combined into one large community event, “Art and Food Festival”. This wonderful event took place on Saturday, March 25th at Oaks Middle School.
Over 460 pieces of student artwork was on display in a beautiful “Art-Walk” inside the multi-purpose room. Under the theme of “Choose Kindness”, students throughout the District were invited to enter artwork in four different categories (visual arts, photography, class performance, and video). A variety of community members and staff served as judges for the artwork. Certificates were awarded for first, second, and third place in each category.
Delicious food samplings provided by the District’s wonderful Food and Nutrition Services Department were served and student entertainment took place on the stage throughout the morning. Information booths from Promise Scholars, the Parent Educational Center, Think Together, Montclair After-School Program, Family Outreach Services, and the Rotary Club of Ontario were present to share resources and information to our community.
This extraordinary day was a fine example of the wonderful happenings in OMSD.
